Workshop #1: Character Scene Development (Sat. Jan. 11th 1 – 4 pm) $50*

How do I enhance and deepen characterization? I’ve got the part and a script: now what? How do I find meaning and convey what lies behind the words? How do I create well-rounded and rich characters rather than one dimensional stereotypes? The answer, and a valuable tool in an actor’s tool box, is in understanding Objectives/Actions and making clear choices.

Workshop #2: Connect the Dots (Sun. Jan. 12th 1 – 4 pm) $50*

Have you ever been to a play and witnessed a disconnection? Good voice projection yet not realistic emotion. Or the body language is expressing something other than what the dialogue is conveying? In this workshop we will work on connecting three important elements for a rich and authentic performance: Voice, Body, and Emotional truth.

Both workshops are geared to adults who wish to build their acting skills (ages 16+).

Kymme Patrick is an award-winning actor, director, and playwright and is the Artistic Director of TheatreWorks Performing Arts Centre in Courtenay, BC. She brings her experience as a drama educator and creator to her classes in exciting and challenging formats.
