And this play is a result of that night time adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annie had directed this play before and contacted Martha Ross for the rights to perform it by CLT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-68a6e329 wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.courtenaylittletheatre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/AUTFlew-Claire-with-Airplane-Photo-by-Terry-Penney-Z64_4160-1024x682.jpeg ,https:\/\/www.courtenaylittletheatre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/AUTFlew-Claire-with-Airplane-Photo-by-Terry-Penney-Z64_4160.jpeg 780w, https:\/\/www.courtenaylittletheatre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/AUTFlew-Claire-with-Airplane-Photo-by-Terry-Penney-Z64_4160.jpeg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 150px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.courtenaylittletheatre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/AUTFlew-Claire-with-Airplane-Photo-by-Terry-Penney-Z64_4160-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-1005\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" title=\"AUTFlew-Claire with Airplane  Photo by Terry Penney Z64_4160\" loading=\"lazy\" role=\"img\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was delighted and it turns out she has a strong connection to our area.&nbsp; Annie contacted the Haida Hereditary Chief Council regarding the play\u2019s reference to the traditional knowledge of their people in the production.&nbsp; They graciously sent their support for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;So now it was just getting a cast and crew, set design, sound design, lighting design, props, specialty props, costumes, advertising and everything else we do so well&#8230;..you know the drill.&nbsp; This play demands a lot of physicality&#8230;.running in and out, falling over furniture, fainting, dancing, stumbling around the stage with one foot in a bucket.&nbsp; (Yes that is true).&nbsp; All was choreographed and practised over an over with safety the foremost concern.&nbsp; Because there were romantic scenes in this play we asked for help from an Intimacy Coordinator. We are lucky to have a practising one in the Valley.&nbsp; They are being used now as standard practice in professional and community productions and in the film industry.&nbsp; This play its not all comedy.&nbsp; Dramatic themes of the growing movement of Women\u2019s Liberation, the traumatic residue of WWI with Ted\u2019s, what is now called, PTSD and the looming of another World War.&nbsp; All&nbsp; of them are touched on and culminate in the ending of the sounds of a bigger bomb to come.
