CAPITAL FUNDRAISING

LITTLE THEATRE’S BIG MOVE NEEDS YOUR HELP!

In 2020 we will be celebrating our 60th consecutive year of bringing quality community theatre to the Comox Valley. In fact, our roots in the Valley can be traced back to 1921 when the Courtenay Amateur Club began, then was renamed the Courtenay Drama Club, and later became Courtenay Little Theatre in October 1960.

In addition to presenting three major productions a year at the Sid Williams Theatre, including our very popular family shows over the Christmas holidays, CLT is well known on a regional and provincial level. At Theatre BC’s annual North Island Zone (NIZ) Festival, CLT has garnered 105 awards to date, including 13 for Best Production. This has led to CLT representing NIZ at the provincial Mainstage Festival, where we have won 36 major awards, including 5 as Best Production, plus a number of special awards to individual CLT members.

In order to continue with our theatre productions and our ongoing work as a resource for other community groups, we maintain a rehearsal, storage, and building warehouse facility known as the CLT Space. After 16 years in the same building, the sale of our current location has necessitated a move to a warehouse on Moray Avenue in Courtenay that is in need of urgent renovations. In order to continue our operations, we are launching a capital fundraising campaign and need your help to provide rehearsal and set building space, as well as storage for props, costumes, set construction materials and tools, plus plumbing and electrical upgrades in our new CLT Space.

Please find below some detailed information outlining how you can provide your financial support of Courtenay Little Theatre through our capital fundraising project.

Thank you for your consideration. Please feel free to contact us at info@courtenaylittletheatre.com with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,
Shari Jakubiec
President Courtenay Little Theatre
