Courtenay Little Theatre is pleased to offer up to three awards each year, each worth $1,000, to assist Comox Valley high school graduates to further their studies in the field of theatre, both technical and performance. In order to be eligible, students must live in the SD 71 boundaries and intend to pursue theatre courses following graduation, having successfully completed a school or community program that focuses upon drama. Criteria for selection will include participation in school and community theatrical activity, academic achievement, written recommendations, and contribution to Courtenay Little Theatre. When two or more candidates meet the four main criteria equally, financial need will be taken into consideration. Proof of registration in a post-secondary theatre program of the student’s choice will be required prior to the receipt of these bursaries.
Should no appropriate application be received from students in the field of theatre, consideration may be given to applications from students entering other disciplines in the performing arts.
