Courtenay Little Theatre is pleased to offer three awards, each worth $1000, to assist 2019 graduates from local high schools towards further study in the field of theatre, both technical and performance. In order to be eligible, students must live in the SD 71 boundaries and intend to pursue theatre courses following graduation, having successfully completed a school or community program that focuses upon drama. Criteria for selection will include participation in school theatrical activity, academic achievement, written recommendations, and contribution to Courtenay Little Theatre. Proof of registration in a theatre program of the student’s choice will be required prior to the receipt of these bursaries.
Should no appropriate application be received from students in the field of theatre, consideration may be given to applicants entering other disciplines in the performing arts. When two or more candidates meet the four main criteria equally, financial need will be taken into consideration.
Students at G. P. Vanier, Mark Isfeld, and Highland Secondary Schools should apply through their schools as part of the school bursary/scholarship application process.
Homeschoolers and those from other Comox Valley high school programs should email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application form. Submissions due April 1st, 2018 (or date given by school).
