BECOME A CLT PATRON

Courtenay Little Theatre is a volunteer run non-profit charity. Our goal is to continue to provide quality productions for our community and keep our rehearsal and storage space while maintaining fiscal health both now and for future generations.

And even beyond our own organization, CLT supports a diverse assortment of non-profits, including peer arts groups, across the Comox Valley, providing space for set-building, rehearsals, meetings, as well as props, costumes, equipment, and printing, helping our friends make their budgets go further.

We invite you to become a CLT Patron. Your annual donation gives you a place of honour in all programs for our season. We would also be pleased to help you set a monthly donation of $10, $25, $50 or $100 (suggested), if preferred. Your support will allow CLT to continue to provide our community with a diverse variety of quality plays for all ages.

E-transfers can be sent to theatrebookkeeping@gmail.com, We can also accept automatic withdrawal, cheques, or cash as other payment options.

For your donation you will receive:

  • A charitable tax receipt for the full amount of your donation.
  • Your name(s) in each of the programs for the current season.
  • An invitation to the Dress Preview prior to the public Opening Night.

If you would like to be a CLT Season Patron or make a one-time donation, please complete the Patron Form and either email it to Terry Penney at ttp9@shaw.ca or mail to CLT at PO Box 3033, Courtenay, BC V9N 5N3

BECOME A CLT SUPPORTER

Our roots in the Comox Valley can be traced back to 1921 when the Courtenay Amateur Club was formed (later renamed the Courtenay Drama Club). In October 1960, the drama club was formally incorporated as the Courtenay Little Theatre Society (CLT).

In addition to presenting three major live stage productions a year at the Sid Williams Theatre, including our very popular family shows over the Christmas holidays, CLT is well known on a regional and provincial level. At Theatre BC’s annual North Island Zone (NIZ) Festival, CLT has garnered 105 awards to date, including 13 for Best Production. This has led to CLT representing NIZ at the provincial Mainstage Festival, where we have won 36 major awards, including 5 as Best Production, plus a number of special awards to individual CLT members.

Like all theatres around the globe during the pandemic CLT had to pause live stage productions, however our members managed to keep the “joy of theatre” alive during this difficult time with online readings, script writing and live streaming projects. Now CLT is thrilled to be resuming live performance this summer with Theatre in the Park and is again preparing a season of live plays in the coming year for audiences at the Sid Williams Theatre.

Courtenay Little Theatre is incorporated as a BC non-profit society and is a registered charitable organization. In addition to live theatre performances, our charitable purposes also include providing theatre training workshops, regular community event nights, and awarding of bursaries to young students seeking to further their training in theatre. CLT is entirely volunteer run and operated and relies on our member’s time and talents as well as monetary donations from the community to fulfil our mission which is to “create opportunities to discover the joy of theatre”.

People can become a CLT supporter in a number of ways by

  • attending our live events,
  • volunteering their time and talents,
  • membership in the CLT Society, and
  • making a charitable donation.

Donations are tax deductible and can be made online through CanadaHelps.org at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/33840
